The workflow successfully supported the development of the Vertical Glass Tower of Dreams from an initial concept to a refined architectural proposal. AI tools helped generate ideas, visualize the design, analyze environmental performance, and suggest sustainable improvements. The combination of different AI tools allowed me to explore multiple perspectives and design possibilities efficiently.
Some AI outputs were overly imaginative and lacked architectural clarity. In several cases, the responses did not directly answer the prompt or produced unrealistic ideas that would be difficult to implement in a real building. This required additional prompt refinement and critical evaluation.
ChatGPT was the most useful tool throughout the workflow. It provided clear architectural narratives, design keywords, performance analysis, and practical design recommendations that could be directly applied to the project. Its responses were generally more structured and relevant to the architectural objectives.
Human judgment was required at every stage of the workflow. I had to evaluate AI-generated concepts, select the most relevant ideas, refine prompts, compare outputs from different AI systems, and decide which sustainability strategies should be incorporated into the final design.
The workflow improved efficiency by accelerating idea generation, visualization, research, and design development. AI provided multiple design options in a short time, allowing me to focus more on evaluation, refinement, and decision-making rather than starting from scratch.
AI can generate inaccurate, unrealistic, or irrelevant information. It may also overlook important factors such as site context, user needs, and architectural feasibility. Relying too heavily on AI could reduce critical thinking and independent design exploration. Therefore, AI should be used as a design assistant rather than a replacement for architects.
This project demonstrated that AI can be a valuable tool for supporting architectural workflows. However, the architect remains responsible for evaluating information, making decisions, and ensuring that the final design is practical, meaningful, and responsive to its context.
