MLAP is actively involved in several long-term key projects. Its top priority remains the designation of the Florida Panhandle as a National Heritage Area. Since 2018, MLAP board members have led a feasibility study to assess whether the region meets the necessary criteria for this designation. They have submitted the study for review by the National Park Service and continue to work diligently toward this goal. Additionally, from 2023 to 2024, MLAP has supported the "People of the Apalachicola" project. For more information about these initiatives, please explore the pages under this tab.
