WHAT IS A FRIA?
A "FRIA" is simply an FAA-Recognized ID Area, and the North Country Flying Tigers airfield is enclosed within a FRIA. The FRIA exists so that recreational RC pilots can fly their models without having to install remote ID equipment in their aircraft.
To view existing FRIAs around our area or the entire United States, you can click on the map, below and zoom in. We're located in Upstate NY, so you can zoom in far enough and find us. We have an agreement with the FAA that allows us to fly in what is called "controlled airspace" surrounding the Glens Falls Airport, and because of that, our altitude limit for flying models goes up to, but not including, 400 feet Above Ground Level (AGL).

As you'll soon see, we're located within Class-E controlled airspace that surrounds the nearby Glens Falls Airport (Green grid...zoom in to see altitude limits within Glens Falls Class-E.
