CHARTERED by the ACADEMY of MODEL AERONAUTICS: The North Country Flying Tigers first became an AMA chartered club on February 10, 1998, and have grown steadily to boast a current membership of close to 80 members. We are chartered by the Academy of Model Aeronautics, meaning all members abide by the AMA Safety Code and all our pilots are covered by AMA liability insurance.
GOLD LEVEL LEADER CLUB: The club has been recognized as a Gold Level Leader Club by the AMA, the highest level of recognition by the Academy of Model Aeronautics. This means we demonstrate excellence in promoting the hobby, we practice good safety standards, and we engage in community outreach. We also follow all current FAA regulations regarding recreational flying of RC aircraft. We register our aircraft weighing between 250 grams and 55 pounds, and our pilots have taken and passed the required FAA TRUST exam. For details on our membership requirements, see our membership page.
