Each summer, the North Country Flying Tigers host our Charity Fun Fly event, which is used to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Northern NY State. It's a fantastic way to meet pilots from other clubs, enjoy some flying, and terrific food, too! We hope you'll include our event during your flying season.
To add to our enjoyment of aviation, club members actually organize and go on aviation-related field trips. In 2026, we traveled to the Empire State Air Museum at the Schenectady Airport and had a great time!
Getting out on the water is one of our favorites during the flying season. No Remote ID? No problem. The club has a FRIA at the Nolan Road Boat Launch in South Glens Falls, NY, which is a great place to enjoy flying on floats, RC boating, and some awesome lunch, too! We also feature an annual road trip up to Schroon Lake to experience float flying in the Adirondacks. Check out our Gallery page for the float flying events we enjoyed this season!
Club members don't just sit idle during the colder winter months. Every Wednesday, we travel to the Chase Sports Complex in South Glens Falls to enjoy a morning of indoor flying! In addition to our own club members, we typically attract pilots from the Rutland County RC Flyers, the Watervliet Wind Warriors, the Hoosick Aeromodelers, and the Flying Knights. It has become a true winter meeting place, and we top it all off with a well-attended lunch at a nearby restaurant. This event is well worth the drive!
During the warmer months, the North Country Flying Tigers host a weekly Training Night (weather-permitting, Wednesdays from 430pm-?. We have (3) qualified instructors, radios for instructors and students, and a LOT of enthusiasm. If you've ever been curious about learning to fly RC aircraft, this is the place! You don't need to bring a thing except the desire to learn, some sunglasses, and sun protection. We hope to see you there!
