History

I have been a qualified teacher for twenty years. During this time, I have led history departments in two very different contexts. Having been Head of History and Politics at Hitchin Girls' School for over ten years now I have built up a wide range of experience and had the opportunity to develop my career in the context of an Ofsted ‘outstanding’ school. My experience has provided me with considerable insight in terms of teaching history and politics to a diverse range of students and managing the requirements for leading on a range of qualifications.

Having recently completed a Masters qualification in Education I feel that I have had the opportunity to develop skills of close reflection and analysis of pedagogical thinking which I am able to use to identify existing good practice while also setting agreed targets for improvement.
