Current Unit: Comparative Study
You need to produce a piece that connects and extends one of your favourite pieces from another unit. Through an investigation into the critical theory "The Media Is The Message" You can start to expand what media will you choose to use and why?
SUBMISSION: MARCH 18th
Studio Submission:
1 piece connects to your photo series.
Statement to show the connection (No more than 500 words)
Process Submission (SUGGESTED MINIMUM):
Intro to the task? What is the point? What are you interested in? (C)
Testing media to suit intentions (A)
Analysis of artists who help to inform you technically, conceptually or compositionally and the work that you did inspired by them. (B)
Annotations and selections to show your development (D)
What did you review and refine in the process of making your work. (D)
Purpose:
This will be an opportunity for you to investigate your artistic style and find your voice
Ask yourself: What is interesting? What is important? How can I capture that in a frame? Do I need to extend my images to capture something that the camera couldn't? Who am I as an artist?
What do I need someone to understand when they see my image?
