As our bylaws describe, each position has specific tasks and responsibilities. These duties include:
The co-presidents:
Have general charge and supervision of the business and affairs of the association.
Preside at all meetings of the association, the executive board, and the executive committee.
Be a member ex officio of all committees except of the nominating committee or the audit committee.
Coordinate the work of the officers and committees.
Keep a current copy of the association's state approved bylaws.
The vice president:
Acts as aide(s) to the president.
Performs the duties of the president in the absence or inability of that officer to act.
The secretary:
Records and maintains a permanent file of the minutes of all meetings of the association, executive board and the executive committee.
Maintains a permanent file of the committee reports, membership lists, and records pertaining to the work of the association.
Conducts the correspondence of the association under the direction of the president.
Maintains a file of all correspondence pertaining to the work of the unit.
Sends notices of meetings.
The treasurer:
Has custody of all of the funds of the association.
Keeps a full and accurate account of receipts and expenditures.
Presents a financial statement at every meeting of the association and at other times when requested by the executive board.
Presents a complete annual report at the annual meeting of the association.
Has the accounts examined annually, or upon change of treasurer, by an audit committee or a professional auditor.
The communications Chair:
Oversees SEPTA Website, Facebook, Newsletter, and information regarding events and meetings to both SEPTA and the district.
The fundraising Chair:
Responsible for planning all fundraising efforts throughout the year. This position includes attending and participating in monthly SEPTA meetings, board conversations and planning for the organization as a whole.
The social events Chair:
This position is responsible for overseeing all social events of SEPTA. This position includes attending and participating in the monthly PTO meetings, board conversations and planning for the organization as a whole.
