Teacher Interview on the Danielson Framework Paper-
Rationale: This artifact is a interview that I conducted with a fellow teacher on her knowledge of the Danielson Framework, a topic that we have been covering in class that last few weeks. The goal of this paper was to gauge her knowledge on the Danielson Framework while also expanding upon my own. We had a conversation about the various aspects of the Danielson Framework and it allowed us to have an important conversation about what the Danielson Framework is, as well as the changes that we believe can be made to have it adapt to a more modern environment.
Standard Connection: The teacher interview that I have conducted relates to this standard in a variety of ways. To begin, this standard states that the competent teacher is an ethical and reflective practitioner who exhibits professionalism. All throughout the interview I conducted, we were having a conversation, staying on topic, and remaining respectful. We were able to discuss the various aspects of the Danielson Framework professionally and exhibit our own thoughts and beliefs without judgement, remaining respectful of one another. Beyond that, I would also like to focus on the word reflective. During the interview, I had taken the lessons I had learned and used them to reflect upon what I know to form these questions and ask them in a way that makes sense and allow the teacher to give a thought provoking answer that was going to be more than just one word. Continuing on, when the teacher gave an answer that I had not yet considered, I was able to reflect upon what she said and add to my own beliefs, or challenge her thought with the knowledge that I already had entering this interview. Overall, I feel that the interview I conducted relates to this standard in the way that we were able to have a conversation and be able to express our own beliefs in a respectful and professional manner.
Self- Evaluation- I feel that I am very proficient in this standard. When put in a scenario where I have to be able to have conversations with those around me, I am able to remain professional and be reflective on my own thoughts. While having these conversations with others, it is important to have a growth mindset, to not be afraid to challenge what you already believe and be able to add to that thought process. It is important to hear what others have to say, and have these conversations to better yourself.
