Summary
Your financial data stays on your device. The budget information you enter is stored only on your device in an encrypted database and is never uploaded to us or to any server. Budget Tracker - Confidential has no user accounts and no backend server of any kind, and we cannot see your data. The app does, however, show ads, and that feature involves limited data being sent to Google as described below.
1. Information you enter (stored only on your device)
All of the financial information you enter — income, bills, budgets, categories, savings goals, sinking funds, debts, accounts, net worth, real estate, businesses, trading and retirement records — is stored only on your device, inside an encrypted local database (SQLCipher / AES-256). This information is not transmitted to the developer, not uploaded to any server or cloud account, not shared with any third party, and cannot be seen or recovered by the developer. Because the encryption key is unique to your device, this data is also excluded from cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. You can optionally export your data to a backup file yourself (in Settings, under Backup & Restore) to move it to a new device; that file is a plain, unencrypted copy that you control. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes the on-device database.
2. Information collected by advertising (Google AdMob)
The app displays ads using Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares the following with Google and its advertising partners:
- Advertising ID (a resettable device identifier)
- IP address (used by Google for approximate, IP-based location and fraud prevention)
- General device information (e.g. device model, OS version, language, screen size)
- Ad-interaction data (ad impressions and clicks)
AdMob does not receive any of the financial data you enter into the app. By default, ads may be personalized. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads), and EU/UK/Swiss users are shown a consent choice. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites). Subscribing to Premium removes ads.
3. Investments
Investment prices are entered manually by you and stored only on your device. The app does not fetch live market data, so no information about your holdings ever leaves your device.
4. We do not collect analytics or accounts
The app has no login, no user accounts, and no first-party analytics or tracking. We do not build a profile of you.
5. Children
The app is intended for users aged 18 and older and is not directed to children. As described in sections 1 and 4, the developer does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. Because the app displays third-party ads, it is not appropriate for children.
6. Your choices and rights
- Delete your data: uninstall the app to permanently delete your encrypted on-device database.
- Advertising: reset/limit your advertising ID in device settings; manage consent via the prompt shown to EU/UK/Swiss users.
- GDPR / CCPA-CPRA: because the developer does not collect or store your personal data, most data-subject requests concerning in-app financial data are satisfied by uninstalling. 7. Security
On-device data is encrypted at rest (AES-256). Network requests made by the advertising SDK use encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. The app can require biometric or device-credential unlock and blocks screenshots of financial content.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; the effective date above will change accordingly. Material changes will be reflected in the app's Privacy screen.
