Here are our rules of engagement that every NVT member is expected to keep. Doing the contrary may result in losing our membership and benefits:
1. Commitment to the Mission: Volunteers should be committed to the mission, goals, and values of the program, and actively contribute to achieving them.
2. Respect and Professionalism: All volunteers should treat each other, program participants, and stakeholders with respect and professionalism. This includes maintaining a positive attitude, using appropriate language, and demonstrating cultural sensitivity.
3. Punctuality and Reliability: Volunteers should strive to be punctual and reliable. They should adhere to agreed-upon schedules, notify the program in advance if unable to fulfill commitments, and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
4. Confidentiality and Privacy: Volunteers should respect the confidentiality and privacy of program participants, colleagues, and any sensitive information obtained during their volunteering activities. They should not disclose such information without proper authorization.
5. Safety and Well-being: Volunteers should prioritize their safety and the safety of others. They should follow safety guidelines, report any potential hazards or concerns, and adhere to relevant protocols and procedures.
6. Compliance with Policies and Regulations: Volunteers should adhere to all program policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. This includes but is not limited to codes of conduct (YTBD), dress codes (Wearing of NVT branded Shirts if available), and guidelines related to technology or social media usage.
7. Open Communication: Volunteers should maintain open and honest communication with program coordinators, state leaders, and fellow volunteers. They should actively contribute ideas, provide feedback, and address any concerns in a respectful and constructive manner.
8. Personal Boundaries and Professional Relationships: Volunteers should maintain appropriate personal boundaries and avoid engaging in personal relationships or conflicts that may impact their objectivity or the program's integrity.
9. Use of Resources: Volunteers should effectively and responsibly use program resources. This includes proper use of equipment, materials, and intellectual property, and avoiding the misuse or unauthorized distribution of resources.
10. Continuous Learning and Growth: Volunteers should engage in continuous learning, seeking opportunities to enhance their knowledge, skills, and understanding of their volunteer roles. They should embrace feedback, engage in professional development activities, and actively contribute to their personal growth and the growth of the program.
We have zero tolerance for corrupt practices within the NVT community. The moment a team member is found guilty, we shall cancel his/her membership and benefits and may make a publication about it on the community platforms to service as a notice.
