Needham Student Theatre

Needham Student Theatre (previously Saint Joseph Summer Theatre) is an entirely student-run nonprofit theatre company based in Needham, MA for teens in rising 9th grade through 20 years old. We encourage anyone and everyone interested to participate in the cast, crew, or pit. While we have auditions, we welcome all who show interest into cast and crew. No one is excluded from the NST family!

Inspired by a true story and featuring the Tony®-nominated score by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, Broadway’s Bright Star tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ’40s. When literary editor Alice Murphy meets a young soldier just home from World War II, he awakens her longing for the child she once lost. Haunted by their unique connection, Alice sets out on a journey to understand her past—and what she finds has the power to transform both of their lives.

24 hours, 1 play

NST took on its first ever 24 show to fundraise for this summer's mainstage musical. Directors Ananya Sharma, Fiona Byrne, and Nadia Tess led a cast of 9 through the process of casting, rehearsing, and performing A Christmas Carol in just 24 hours, helping NST to raise over $200 past its goal!
