1944 Review
The outstanding event in autumn 1944 was Operation Market Garden by the Allied forces from 17 to 27 September 1944 to advance into the Ruhr area.
On the Lower Rhine, the area around Nijmegen and Arnhem were the main theatres of action. Planning errors ultimately led to the failure of the operation and gave the German Wehrmacht a final victory.
You can see the preparations for take-off and the loading of the aircraft. Furthermore, the approach over the English Channel and Belgium, as well as scenes in the landing zones.
