The National Police Training Institute (NPTI), through the National Capital Region Training Center (NCRTC), offers the following leadership and professional development courses for Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs):
Public Safety Officers Candidate Course (PSOCC)
Public Safety Senior Leadership Course (PSSLC)
Public Safety Junior Leadership Course (PSJLC)
Public Safety Officer’s Candidate Course (PSOCC)
This course is designed to equip senior non-commissioned officers (SPO4) of the PNP with advanced cognitive knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to perform the duties and responsibilities of an officer.
The four and one-half (4½) month program aims to enhance the participants’ leadership aptitude and prepare them to assume the responsibilities and standards of an officer rank within the organization.
Public Safety Senior Leadership Course (PSSLC)
This course is intended for senior non-commissioned officers (SPO1–SPO3) of the PNP, focusing on developing effective management, leadership, and value-oriented habits needed for higher supervisory roles.
After completing the three and one-half (3½) month program, participants are expected to:
Demonstrate productive and responsive supervisory and leadership qualities and skills.
Assume greater responsibilities in mid-level positions.
Perform with competence the duties required of their respective assignments.
Public Safety Junior Leadership Course (PSJLC)
This course is designed for junior non-commissioned officers with the rank of PO3, providing them with the fundamental knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for team-leading assignments.
The four and one-half (4½) month program aims to develop the participants’ leadership potential and prepare them to take on greater responsibilities within the organization.
