Good Beach

Good Beach - Álidǝkʷ

Álidǝkʷ was known as a temporary native settlement located in the southwest corner at the head of Penn Cove.

Much like the village at San de Fuca, Good Beach was used as a seasonal encampment during the clamming season.

There were a number of hunting areas on the prairies and within the surrounding villages of Penn Cove. Resources gathered from this area included deer, waterfowl, blackberries, wild currants, flax for medicinal purposes, and strawberries. Álidǝkʷ was known for being a site were natives used deer snares and other tools to catch wild game on the western shoreline of Penn Cove.

As for shelter, temporary native encampments such as Álidǝkʷ and San de Fuca, there has not been any research to support the notion of a longhouse existing at either of these locations.
