Our Maine taxes problems, according to Maine.gov Maine had a General Fund Surplus (Funds that are Unappropriated)
In Fiscal Year 2022, surplus was $595.1 million.
In Fiscal Year 2023, surplus was $141 million.
In Fiscal Year 2024, surplus is now $93.5 million.
By looking at this, our Gross Domestic Product being sold is down. Our Maine tourist revenue is down. Our prices to our residents on imports, exports, and taxes are growing. We can solve this by The Union Act.
Maine has a populattion of 1.4 million according to the 2024 census. On the Maine.gov website it states that Maine has manuvered in Gross Domestic product in capmpared to larger states like California. The Maine state website is wrong. California has a population of 40 million people. California has the 4th highest economy in the world worth 4.1 Trillion. If we are able to do The Union Act, and combine our tax revenue, then we will have enough to make Maine prosper without worry of a corrupt Executive branch. Working together means a better future for all Mainers and other states.
State and Town/City taxes for Mainers is expensive, for Mainers who do not make are low income or own a business, its hard to live paycheck to paycheck and be able to live comfortably. The Union Act, can help with is.
Taxes for City/Town I will try to cancel the infrastructure taxes since from what I have seen and experienced through Norther Maine. The infrastructure isn't not taken care of. I want to cut the Infrastructure off from the City/Town (property taxes) Taxes, and have the state of Maine create a infrastructure bill that would guarantee all infrastructure in the State of Maine is maintained and orderly. This can also create jobs for those who need a higher wage and like working with engineers, construction, accounting, or administration. The Union Act can also help with this as well.
Remeber a better life in Maine means teamwork.
