A little bit more about me...
Hi, I'm Natalie.
A 48 year old perimenopausal women who has turned her life around to head into the next chapter the strongest, fittest and healthiest I can be. BUT... I haven't always been like this...
Once upon a time, a few years after loosing my mum everything spiralled. I was eating way too much, drinking too much alcohol and not doing any exercise at all. My children were young and I was juggling family life with running a business and clearly not looking after myself. I was 2 stone overweight, had low self esteem and had little energy. Aged 37, my children were teens and I started to focus on my own health. I FINALLY had counselling for my grief - something I wish I had done sooner!
So, I tried various fitness classes, regularly training and making healthier food choices by introducing small sustainable habits over time, that have evolved into a completely new lifestyle for me. I had a new hobby I loved - doing triathlons & became a British Triathlon Coach. I happily spent a few years enjoying being a new fitter, leaner & healthier version of myself competing in various triathlons.
So much so, I completed a Level 2 Fitness Instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification, followed by a Level 4 Nutrition for Weight loss and Sports Performance qualification - so that I could help other people become fitter and healthier.
Then BOOM I felt like I had been hit by a bus!! The perimenopause symptoms started in my early 40s and yet again I was faced with a new challenge. My energy zapped overnight, my body felt fatigued all the time, I wasn't sleeping properly, I had night sweats, hot flushes and sunk into depression.... you name it I had nearly every symptom going! ... Everything I had always done was no longer working for me anymore. My body felt like it was fighting all the time. I spent months of researching how I could fix myself & ended up doing a extra Nutrition course as well to learn more about fueling the body more effectively. After trial and error, I found out what worked for me and I finally felt I was getting somewhere.
Acknowledging that my body was working differently now and that I had to have a completely new approach was the first step in making real changes to my lifestyle. At 47 years young, my nutrition fuels me correctly and I train exactly how it works for me to keep me energised and thriving at life .
Now I feel I've 'come out the other side' of the hormone tornado, I want to help as many women as I can get healthier, fitter and regain their energy so they can feel amazing too! So far, it's been a year for me coaching fitness and nutrition for women and I can honestly say I am in my element. I love seeing all the women I coach and those who come to my classes get stronger every week.
Seeing all the women I coach regain their energy and thriving into the next chapter of life is just the best reward for the work I do!
