Direction to campus and travel information (by car, air, bus, or train) are available on the UMass Visitor Information website. Under the “By Air” label, you will also see information on transportation services, including from Bradley International Airport, which is the closest airport to Amherst, MA (~45 miles). Details on car rentals at Bradley International Airport can be found here.
The UMass Visitor Information website also includes information on campus parking options for visitors not staying in Hotel UMass. Most notably, parking is available for all attendees in the Campus Center Parking Garage, located at 1 Campus Center Way, Amherst, MA, 01003. Campus Center Way is off of Commonwealth Avenue, across the street from the Mullins Center. After turning onto Campus Center Way stay to the left and go up the hill. The garage entrance will be up the hill on your right. Take a gate ticket and park. We recommend following the “Hotel UMass/Campus Center” signs down to Level 2, where there is a flat walkway right into the Campus Center. The main exit to get to the Campus Center via the outside is on Level 3.

Parking Instructions for those Staying at Hotel UMass
Upon entering the Campus Center Parking Garage, you will receive a gate ticket. After you park, take your gate ticket with you and provide it to the hotel desk clerk at check-in. The clerk will provide you with a discounted parking pass ($6/day) that is valid for the duration of your stay. Keep this pass with the QR code in a secure spot and take it with you whenever you leave. Each time you enter or exit the garage, scan the QR code at the gate for in/out access. This pass will be valid until 5:00pm on your check-out date.
Parking Instructions for those Staying Off Campus
Upon entering the Campus Center Parking Garage, you will receive a gate ticket. After you park, take your gate ticket with you. You can then pick up a discounted parking coupon from the conference registration staff. Keep the coupon with the QR code in a secure spot on your person. As you leave for the day, but before you get to your car, stop at one of the pay stations (located on every level of the garage). Enter your gate ticket and, when prompted, scan the QR code on the coupon. This will entitle you to a discounted parking rate of $6.50. After you submit payment your gate ticket will be validated. Take your gate ticket from the machine and proceed to your car to leave. As you drive out of the garage, insert your gate ticket into the kiosk located at the garage exit to raise the gate. Repeat this process for each day you attend. This discount coupon will be valid for the duration of the conference. (Note that each time you use your coupon, it will say you have one use remaining; you can ignore this note!)
Also note that the regular hourly rate for the garage is $1.85 and the discounted passes cap the cost at $6.50 (thus, the discount comes after parking for 4 hours). Note that these passes do NOT have in/out privileges; the clock re-starts each time you re-enter the garage on the same day.
Accessible Parking on Campus
The University of Massachusetts Amherst provides ADA reserved accessible parking. Use the interactive Parking Map to locate reserved accessible parking. Click the Layers icon on the top-left of the map, and select reserved accessible parking. To better serve visitors with state-issued disabled placards or license plates, Parking Services requires them to register and provide vehicle information (contact information for Parking Services can be found here). Vehicles displaying a state-issued disabled placard or license plate may park in any marked Reserved Accessible Space, any regular, unreserved space, or any parking meter at no charge. All vehicles, regardless of disabled placards or plates, must pay when utilizing the Campus Center Parking Garage.
** You should not park anywhere at UMass outside of the parking garage or metered parking spaces without first obtaining a valid permit. Parking on campus without a valid permit, pass, placard, or license plate may result in ticketing and/or towing.
