The Research Committee shall support, advocate for, and amplify research in and on PDSs and SUPs, and cultivate an inclusive community of researchers from both the academic and P-12 spheres who are committed to, and engaged in, research in this field.
Chairs are appointed by the NASUP president. The appointment process begins with a call for applications issued by the NASUP Board. Prospective applicants are asked to submit of a letter of interest and to participate in an interview with a representative from the team of three presidents. Following the interview(s) and consultation with the board, the president appoints a chair or co-chairs.
The chair or co-chairs serve three-year terms and may serve for two consecutive terms.
Membership on the committee is open to any member of NASUP who has an interest in research and plans to support the charge of the committee.

The Research Committee is divided into working groups to facilitate active engagement and productivity.
Each working group is tasked with:

conducting original research related to school-university partnerships
acknowledging NASUP’s pivotal role in convening these groups in any publications or presentations resulting from the working groups
maintaining communication with the full Research Committee through periodic meetings-of-the-whole
