The Conferences and Programs Committee shall be responsible for developing regular initiatives and events. This committee shall coordinate and supervise Association program activities and shall coordinate with other committees and the Executive Leadership Committee. The annual Conference committee shall be a sub-committee of this group. The Committee Chair recommends annual Conference Chair(s) for approval by the Executive Leadership Committee. The Committee Chair will serve on the annual conference committee and be the liaison between the Executive Leadership Committee and the annual Conference Chairs. Sub-committees may be formed with the approval of the Executive Leadership Committee.
The committee is led by one chair who is either a university-based representative or school-based PK-12 representative. The committee also includes one ex-officio representative from the elected leadership, the two Conference Committee chairs, and at least one representative each who also serves on the antiracism committee and communications committee, respectively.
The balance of the committee is comprised of at-large members. The committee strives for equal representation from university-based and PK-12 members of the association.
The events committee meets monthly and engages in collaborative decision-making in both creating events and supporting events proposed by the NAPDS Leadership Team and/or individual committees..
The chair of the committee works with committee members
to identify regular meeting dates and times,
create monthly meeting agendas and maintain records of the committee work,
establish a yearly calendar of events across the year, including but not limited to CoffeeEdus, webinars, book, clubs, and special events.

The Conference Committeee is a sub committee of the Conference and Programs committee; it is led by two co-chairs who both serve on the Conference and Programs Committee.
