Group leaders: Raquel ALFARO SÁNCHEZ & Miguel MONTORO GIRONA
Main objectives: Dendroecology of SAFE experimental plots (fire and silvicultural chronosequence)
Description: Group dedicated to the measuring and description of multiple attributes of boreal mixed forests subjected to different sylvicultural treatments: biodiversity, biomass increments at the tree and stand scale, temporal variability of biomass increments, impact of climate and insect epidemics on forest productivity.
At the FERLD we have a well established chronosequence of forest plots at different time since fire and sylvicultural treatments (SAFE experiment). The data will be collected on the SAFE plots and associated control plots and analyzed in the lab.
