  • Are food and lodging included?

Yes, accommodation and food for the entire stay are included in the registration fee.


  • Can professionals participate?

Yes, professionals are welcome to attend NADEF. There may also be grants and programs within companies that can partially or fully finance the registration to NADEF.


  • Can participation in NADEF be used to validate university credits?

Yes, students in the UQ network can use NADEF to validate university credits. NADEF counts as the ECL7202 - Dendroecology, a three-credit course (https://www.uqat.ca/etudes/cours/?code=ECL7202)


  • Can beginners participate?

You do not need to have any knowledge of dendrochronology to participate in NADEF. An introductory group on dendrochronology has been designed for people who wish to discover this discipline.


  • How do I get to NADEF once I arrive in Rouyn-Noranda?

Participants who arrive in Rouyn-Noranda by plane or bus will be taken to the FERLD research station by a bus shuttle. Please ask to the organizing committee if you think you will need this service.


  • Is there any financial assistance available to reduce the registration fees?

Tree-Ring Society members have a 100 CAD discount on the registration fees.
