Often more complex musically, this genre can be solely instrumental or with a vocalist.  The music can communicate ideas about struggle but also about love and joy. 

The Blues is more soulful and honest, often communicating the struggles and pain of daily life from the mundane to the tragic. This style is more simple and approachable.
