A Day in the Park
The goal of the A Day In The Park club is to provide stress-relieving activities and give students a chance for a break during the hectic school day. We will have games such as spikeball, cornhole, and ring toss, as well as coloring, music, and other day-brightening activities in the quad during all 6 lunches once a month! We feel as if mental health is very important in our community and the stress of a long school day only adds to it. So, by having a mental break during your chaotic school day we hope to help improve the mental health of all MPHS students!

African Cultural Club
Starting an African cultural club in my high school would be a great way to promote cultural awareness and diversity within our school. By creating a space for students to connect and learn about African cultures and traditions, we can help foster a sense of community and inclusivity among our peers. The African continent is incredibly diverse, with over 50 countries and countless ethnic groups, each with its own unique cultures, languages, and traditions. An African club can provide a platform for us to learn about the rich history, music, art, literature, and food of various African countries and regions. While clubs like the Black Students Union, Asian Union, or Multicultural Club are important and valuable, an African club can offer a more specific focus on the cultures and traditions of the African continent. African students come from diverse backgrounds, including West Africans, East Africans, South Africans, and North Africans, and each region has its own unique history, culture, and traditions. An African club can provide a space for students from different regions to connect and share their experiences, while also educating the broader student body about the diversity of African cultures. Through events and activities such as cultural festivals, food fairs, language classes, dance performances, and art exhibitions, we can help to create a more welcoming and inclusive environment for all students. Additionally, it can serve as an opportunity for African students to connect with one another and share their experiences, while also promoting a greater understanding and appreciation of African cultures among the student body.

Bluegrass Club
We get together once a week to play bluegrass music together. It has existed for awhile here now and I plan on keeping up the legacy. It's a lot of fun for all the members and gives us a reason to get together. We play multiple times in the year for different groups of people. We play for the Charlotte Folks society during an exhibition, we always play in the talent show, and we play in the quad multiple times each year. It's a love for many members, and it brings alumni back to see us again. I hope to continue this message next year.
