The purpose of the practicum was to develop my teaching skills, includingclass management, teaching variations, and many more. Teaching in Thailand necessitated the use of English, indirectly enhancing my language proficiency. Moreover, the practicum broadened my insights about global education
The practicum involved four stages: class observations, assistance, actual teaching, and reflection. Observations included assessing the class environment and learning processes. I assisted teachers in the assistance stage after understanding the classes dynamics. The third stage was actual teaching. I taught some classes under supervision from by the cooperating teacher. In the final stage, the reflection stage, I received feedback to enhance future lessons.
This practicum enhanced my teaching skills, improved my classroom management, and exposed me to diverse learning methods. Feedback received during the practicum helped me to refine my teaching methods, prepared me with practical insights for professional teaching.
One of the challenges in this practicum was the diverse characteristics of students. Some were quiet, some were very active. Sometimes I wondered, "how can I get all of their attention and convey the learning objectives?" As time went by, I learned that holding learning in an interesting way is one of the keys. Apart from that, to teach elementary school students, learning must be delivered in a simple way.
Ps: Thank you to my cooperating teachers at Anuban Udonthani who have guided me :)
MEMORABLE
My overall impression about the program.
This program was very memorable. Apart from gaining insight in teaching and educational field, I also came home with a pile of memories. Meeting lots of great people, meeting lots of joyful moments, one month felt so short. Yet it was so meaningful.
I recommend that Seateacher committee or universities within Seateacher program could spread the word about this amazing program a bit more. It's really fantastic, and I'd love more of my friends to get the informations and get a chance to experience it too!
