Often times equipped with other personal data, a spoofer will falsely claim to belong to your preferred financial institution to gain access. We can protect ourselves by initiating these calls and conversations with our banks ourselves. Accepting calls or texts only from numbers listed by your financial institution, confirming who you are interacting with, and keeping an eye for suspicious behaviors are all practices that can lessen the likelihood of falling victim to spoofing.
