As the recruitment season continues, we’re entering one of the most exciting times of the year! Applications are open, scholarship opportunities are underway, and students are beginning to make important decisions about their next steps. Below are key updates and reminders:
Student events
Encourage your students to connect with Dalhousie—whether in person or online!
• Future Student Events: There are a variety of events and opportunities to help your students learn more about Dalhousie University, meet other students, and get a feel for what it's like to be a part of the Dal community.
• Campus Tours: Students can explore campus in person or from anywhere through our virtual campus tour.
• Virtual Open House: Join us online on Saturday, November 15, 2025, or Saturday, January 24, 2026, to meet faculty and staff, explore academic programs, and learn what makes Dalhousie just right for them.
Preparing your students for their application
The Dalhousie application is open and you play a key role in helping students feel confident and prepared as they begin their applications. Encourage your students to:
• Explore programs to find out what's right for them!
• Review program requirements early
• Gather transcripts and documents (outside of Nova Scotia & Ontario)
• Mark down important deadlines
With your guidance, students will be ready to take the next step toward their future.
Please note: CASPer is no longer required for Nursing and Medical Science admissions.
Entrance Awards
Dalhousie offers a range of entrance scholarships to help support students financially as they begin their studies:
• Automatic Early Entrance Awards: Students with an 80% admission average or a predicted/anticipated 26 IB Diploma score are automatically considered.
• General Entrance Awards Program: Students can apply for additional awards through the General Entrance Awards application by February 15, 2026.
• Early Application Incentive: Students who apply and confirm their offer before January 31, 2026, will be entered into a contest to win free tuition and residence for their first year!

October 15 – Admission and General Entrance Awards applications open.
October 18 – Truro Open House (Agriculture programs)
November 1 – Halifax Open House
November 15 – First Virtual Open House
January 24 – Second Virtual Open House
January 31 – Deadline to accept early entrance awards
February 15 – Application deadline for Health Science, Medical Sciences and Nursing.
February 15 – General Entrance Award application deadline
March – Entrance award offers will be sent out to eligible students.
May 1 – Priority deadline for the First-Year Residence Guarantee.
May 15 – Admission deposit due.
June – First-year course registration opens.
