Percussion Ensemble

Percussion Ensemble is a year-long class that is taught by Mr. O'Shaughnessy 7th period.

Students who wish to participate in Percussion Ensemble must be accepted into the class by Mr. O'Shaughnessy. All members of the drumline for the Mighty Marching Muskie Band are required to be a part of the Percussion Ensemble. If a student wants to join Percussion Ensemble and is not on the drumline, they must demonstrate to Mr. O'Shaughnessy a sense of maturity in regards to their autonomy, passion for getting better at percussion, and overall behavior towards their fellow students.

Additionally, throughout the course of the year the Percussion Ensemble develops their skills on a well-rounded variety of instruments that include: snare drum, marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, steel pans, timpani, hand-drums, triangle, tambourine, and shakers by receiving specified-instruction,participating in mock auditions that are administered by Mr. O'Shaughnessy, and performing in the IHSMA Solo and Ensemble Festival.

Students who wish to participate in Percussion Ensmeble, should be prepared to work hard and have fun!
