Dvigrad i Dvigrad Festival

Dvigrad je iznimno mjesto za iščitavanje povijesti i veliki izazov za umjetnike i znanstvenike. Dvigrad je i mjesto u kojem se čovjek treba zaustaviti. Zaustavio sam se diveći se Dvigradu i njegovoj povijesti, zaustavio sam se da se njemu posvetim svim svojim bićem i pred dvadeset godina utemeljio sam Dvigrad festival, međunarodni festival rane glazbe koji mu svake godine vraća život kulture, umjetnosti i znanosti. Ova je godina već dvadeseta, jubilarna, koja mu na uzdarje donosi glazbu onoga doba, glazbu koja se mogla čuti među zidinama tog srednjovjekovnog grada utvrde.

Za one koji će pratiti ovogodišnji slavljenički Dvigrad festival, citirat ću dva pozdravna pisma objavljena u zborniku Istra u umjetnosti i znanstvenim disciplinama od 15. do 17. stoljeća / – Zagreb : Udruga Prosoli – Sveta glazba i Sveta glazba d.o.o.; 2005. – (Biblioteka Scientiae et Artes; knj. 1) upućena Dvigrad festivalu ali i međunarodnom simpoziju posvećenom ranoj glazbi, glazbenoj ostavštini i njezinoj interpretaciji, zvučnim zapisima, estetici, duhovnosti, filozofiji, književnosti, likovnosti ...

U tim citatima, biranim riječima sluti se da je glazbena i znanstvena nit projekta Udruge Prosoli – Sveta glazba, s kojim će Dvigrad festival, međunarodni festival rane glazbe ruini kakav je bio Dvigrad, darovati život a da će sa svoje strane Dvigrad u svoje dostojanstvene obnovljene kutke vratiti kulturu ranih i raznih povijesnih nasljeđa u onom sjaju kojeg Dvigrad i ljudi koji mu na neki način pripadaju, zaslužuju.

Ovim mojim uvodnim slovom u Dvigrad festival 2022. zahvaljujem Ivanu Jakovčiću i Mladenu Dušmanu, dvojici zaslužnih za uzlet i dugi let Dvigrad festivala.

Dvigrad Festival

Iz prevelike želje da se sakralna umjetnost s recentnim glazbenim stvaralaštvom, kao i u srednjem vijeku, prepozna u sadašnjem vremenu, rodio se Dvigrad festival, međunarodni festival rane glazbe. Dočekujemo ga i ove godine s dobrim željama kako taj dio stvaralaštva ne bi ostao zaboravljena enklava u kulturnoj ponudi na našem najvećem poluotoku.

Ponuđenim programima možemo iščitavati one ljepše retke istarske glazbene ostavštine, koja, eto, zahvaljujući Dvigrad festivalu vraća pozornicama istarskih gradova djelić nekadašnjeg glazbenog šarma. Takvi programi donijeli su Festivalu međunarodni ugled i uvrstili ga među projekte o kojima se i u svjetskim kulturnim krugovima govori s osobitim poštovanjem.

U uvjerenju da početni uspjesi neće organizatorima ništa oduzeti od njihove kreativnosti, već biti poticajni da Dvigrad festival iskaže svu snagu i još jednom nadvisi samoga sebe. Upravo se zbog toga Festival uklapa u one programe na razini Istarske županije kojima se u gospodarskom, turističkom, kulturnom i svakom drugom smislu vrednuje naše područje.

Iskreno želim da na tragu takvih nastojana Festival bude onaj pokretač koji će ispuniti naša očekivanja i ostati nezaobilaznom i respektabilnom manifestacijom kojoj se mi u Istarskoj županiji ponosimo. Želim mu puno uspjeha!

Istarska županija, Upravni odjel za prosvjetu i kulturu od samoga početka podupire projekt Dvigrad festival, međunarodni festival rane glazbe zajedno s Općinom Kanfanar i drugim mjestima u Istri oslanjanja prvenstveno na profesionalnost i spremnost Udruge Prosoli – Sveta glazba da se jedinstvenoj ljepoti srednjovjekovnih vrijednosti našeg podneblja pridruže stari i gotovo zaboravljeni tonovi, čineći time kulturnu, povjesnu i umjetničku harmoniju cjelovitijom.

Prilikom objavljivanja ovog zbornika znanstvenih i stručnih radova veliko nam je zadovoljstvo pokazati da se uz Dvigrad festival okupljaju stručnjaci koji svojim proučavanjima doprinose njegovanju umjetnosti, povijesti i kulturnih dobara Istre i Kvarnera. S jedne strane glazbene note izvođača rane glazbe Dvigrad festivala unose život i umjetničku reproduktivnu ljepotu u naše gradove, na naše trgove i stare palace. Ali s druge strane, svjesni smo činjenice o kojoj govori stara latinska izreka: Verba volant, scripta manent!, ili da parafraziramo: riječi i glazbeni tonovi lete, a ono što je napisano ostaje. Iz tog razloga zbornik Istra u umjetnosti i znanstvenim disciplinama od 15. – 17. stoljeća ima svoju posebnu vrijednost i svrhu. Želimo da ova knjiga radova bude poticaj za daljnji nastavak proučavanja i prezentiranja istarskih, hrvatskih i univerzalnih kulturnih vrijednosti.

Dvigrad and Dvigrad Festival

Twenty years ago, I stopped to admire Dvigrad and its history, I stopped to dedicate myself to it with all my being, and founded the Dvigrad Festival. Every year since then, this international festival of early music brings back to Dvigrad its culture, art and science. In this jubilee year, the festival presents to Dvigrad the music of its time, music that could once be heard within the walls of this medieval city fortress. 

For those who will follow this year’s celebratory Dvigrad Festival, I will quote two greeting letters published in the collection “Istria in Art and Scientific Disciplines from the 15th to the 17th Century” (Zagreb: Association Prosoli – Sacred Music & Sacred Music d.o.o.; 2005., Biblioteka Scientiae et Artes; Vol I). The letters were sent to the Dvigrad Festival, but also to a related international symposium dedicated to early music, musical heritage and its interpretation, sound recordings, aesthetics, spirituality, philosophy, literature, and art. Well-chosen words of these letters suggest that the international festival of early music, Dvigrad Festival, the musical and scientific thread of the Association Prosoli – Sacred Music, brings life to the ruins of Dvigrad, and that Dvigrad, in turn, in its dignified restored corners returns the culture of early and varied historical heritage to the splendor it and its people deserve. 

With this introductory letter to the Dvigrad Festival 2022, I would like to thank Ivan Jakovčić and Mladen Dušman who are meritorious for the rise and the long flight of the Dvigrad Festival.

Dvigrad Festival

Out of a great desire to recognize sacral art with recent musical creations, as in the Middle Ages, the Dvigrad Festival, International Festival of Early Music was born in the present time. We welcome it again this year with good wishes so that this part of creativity would not remain a forgotten enclave in the cultural offer on our largest peninsula.

With the offered programs we can read into those beautiful rare Istrian musical legacies, which, thanks to the Dvigrad Festival, return to the stages of Istrian cities a part of the former musical heritage. Such programs have brought the Dvigrad Festival an international reputation and included it among the projects that are discussed with special respect in world cultural circles. 

In the belief that the initial successes will not deprive the organizers of anything from their creativity, but will be an incentive for the Dvigrad Festival to show all its strength and once again surpass itself. That is why the Festival fits into those programs at the level of the Istrian County which add value to our area in economic, tourist, cultural and every other sense.

I sincerely wish that in the wake of such efforts, the Dvigrad Festival will be the driving force that will meet our expectations and remain an unavoidable and respectable event that we in the Istrian County are proud of. I wish it a great success!

Istrian County and its Administrative Department of Education and Culture supported from the very beginning the project Dvigrad Festival, the International Festival of Early Music, together with the Municipality of Kanfanar and other places in Istria, relying primarily on professionalism and willingness of the Association Prosoli – Sacred Music to enrich the unique beauty of the Middle Ages’ achievements of our region with old and almost forgotten tones, thus making the cultural, historical and artistic harmony more complete.

We are very pleased that this collection of scientific and professional papers shows that the Dvigrad Festival brings together experts who contribute to the nurturing of art, history and cultural heritage of Istria and Kvarner regions. On the one hand, the musical notes of the early music performers of the Dvigrad Festival bring life and artistic reproductive beauty to our cities, our squares and old palaces. But on the other hand, we are aware of the fact spoken of by the old Latin saying: Verba volant, scripta manent!, or to paraphrase: words and musical tones fly, and what is written remains. For this reason, the collection Istria in Art and Scientific Disciplines From the 15th to the 17th Century has its own special value and purpose. We want this book of papers to be an incentive for further study and presentation of Istrian, Croatian and universal cultural values.
