Many people find it boring to learn history. Maybe they just have no interest in this subject or their history classes are not conducted most interestingly. Either way, it is unfair to view history negatively. History is not only an important subject; it is also a meaningful one. Beyond what we had memorized lies a valuable message that can guide and help us to make sound decisions for the present time. In order to bring our learning of history excitingly, Muni Café materialized.

Muni Café comes from the word ‘Pagmumuni-muni’ which means careful thinking or reflection. We all know that the history of the Philippines comes a long way back and many had happened. Many were taught at school especially the highlights in our history that made big impacts on our country. However, many were unrecognized too and little information was given about them at school. There were a lot of unsung heroes in our history and one of them is the GOMBURZA. GOMBURZA refers to the three martyr Filipino Catholic priests namely Mariano Gómez, José Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora that were publicly executed by garrote on the early morning of February 17, 1872, in Bagumbayan by the Spanish colonial authorities on charges of being the masterminds of the uprising from the 1872 Cavite mutiny. Muni Café aims to bring you beyond the martyrdom of the GOMBURZA and make you reflect deeply that they once stood to fight for the rights of the Filipinos just like most of our heroes do. This project will envelop you with a coffee shop ambiance as we go through the lives and execution of GOMBURZA to make our learning exciting and new.
