At The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the core of who we are as an organization. These tenets are ingrained in the fabric of the agency. Building an organization that attracts and leverages diversity in our staff, as well as strives for respect and inclusion throughout our workplace, is central to our strategic priorities.
A workforce that is representative of the users we serve drives innovation that will produce equitable outcomes and ensure accessible services regardless of language, status or mobility. The MTA is committed to providing a welcoming environment that respects the value of each employee, customer, and member of the community.
Employee Business Resource Groups (ERGs) are voluntary and employee-organized with the guidance and support of DDCR/EEO and Executive sponsorship. ERGs provide a forum for employees of similar backgrounds, cultures, and interests to come together for networking, support and professional development and to promote cultural and civic awareness. ERGs assist to promote MTA's core business objectives such as recruitment and retention of employees, marketing and advertising, and establishing nurturing community relationships.

ERGs aim to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace aligned with MTA’s mission, values, and business objectives. All ERGs are supported by Executive Sponsors and support the development of our Transportation Diversity Advisory Council. The council advises MTA management on diversity and inclusion-related matters, and champions the agency’s Employer of Choice objectives.
*The membership form will go to the Department of Diversity & Civil Rights/EEO and a copy of the list will be sent to the ERG leaders.
