I started my adventure in the district during the 2016-2017 school year, and I'm so excited to continue to learn and grow with all of our students. I'm looking forward to growing both personally and professionally, and watching all of the kids learn and develop into youth that are ready for the next challenges in life.
I'm originally from Western Nebraska (Go Big Red!), and attended college at Black Hills State University here in Spearfish. After graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education, I began my teaching career as a K-6 Resource Teacher in Burns, Wyoming. The experiences and relationships shared there were wonderful, challenging, and taught me about myself and the world of children and education. I have since completed my Elementary Technology Education Endorsement and continue to be a lifelong learner.
I now live in Spearfish with my son, Parker. He has brought so much joy into my life and we have so many adventures together! The students are typically interested and involved with our life (they ask how Parker is doing and to see photos or have brought in the sweetest handmade cards as well as gifts - being a teacher is the best!) and it is so sweet to share the journey with them. I enjoy doing just about anything with friends and family, but I usually gravitate towards reading a good book, gardening, hiking, painting, listening to music, riding bikes, playing video games and watching movies. My current favorite pastime involves snuggling my child. :)
