The game download won't start?
Check remaining disk space on the HDD you're installing the game into. At the time of this guide written, December 2019, the game has 22GB of files, and will keep increasing as new units and stuffs get added into the game.
The game download stops halfway?
1. There's a possibility of an antivirus interfering with the game download, so if this happens, make sure you turn off your antivirus and try again.
2. The file downloaded might get corrupted due to (1.) and/or other things interrupting the game download. If disabling antivirus doesn't fix it, uninstall the launcher and try again.
The game has been installed but it won't start?
1. Make sure your DirectX 9.0 is the latest version. Even if you have DirectX 10 or later installed, the game may not start normally if the version of DirectX 9.0 isn't correct. So download the update for DirectX 9.0 here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/ja-jp/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&DisplayLang=ja
2. Some security programs might be interfering with the game launching, so try to disable them when launching and see if they're the cause.
3. Check the "Run as Administrator" at the BNO Launcher's properties.
4. Make sure your system is sufficient to play the game.
5. Make sure you have enough RAM/Memory when launching the game.
6. If the above solution still doesn't work, download the BNO Error Reporter here: http://msgo.bandainamco-ol.jp/member/download/BNOErrorReporter.exe. Launch this before starting the launcher, and see which error code you got. Scroll down this page to see the detailed list of error codes and their solution.
Using Windows 7 and not being able to start the game after all of the above?
Your version of Windows 7 might not have the SHA-2 Code Signing Support. You can download the update for that here:
- Security Update for Windows 7 (32-bit) (KB3033929)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=46078
- Security Update for Windows 7 (64-bit) (KB3033929)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=46148
p.s: do note that starting 2020, the game no longer support Windows 7.
The update patches never finishes/update loop?
Change your computer's timezone to JP and try again.
I can see textures but everything is pitch black?
Change your computer format to Japanese in Control Panel > Region > Format.
I got 1024x7xx resolution error?
The game doesn't like any DPI setting that isn't default. To fix, find the executable for MSGO, right click to properties > compatibility > check Override high DPI scaling behavior.
If you got any other system error when trying to launch the game, use the File Check feature just below the start game button on the launcher. It will check for missing/corrupted files and then updates it for you. However if the file check found an outdated file and can't update it somehow, go to the directory in which you install MSGO, find BNO > Gundam Online, and then delete "patch.files". After doing so the update should be able to be performed.
Any other errors, you can try using the BNO Error Reporter mentioned above, and see if you get any of the following error codes:
