In Mobile Suit Gundam Online, the gachapon is the primary method of obtaining some of the strongest units in the game. A gachapon (also known as gashacon) is a method in which a person spends a form of currency in order to get a random prize from a machine, typically a machine where the contents are known. Gachapons in MSGO are usually bunched up in a few different categories, DX Volumes, DX Pickup, DX GoGo, Event Gachapon, GP Gachapon, EX Gachapon, and Daily Gachapon machines. Gachapon machines in general can be rolled either in 1’s or by 10+1 (using 10 tickets/currency and getting an additional free roll).

These are the most standard gachapon machines in the game. They typically last for about 3 months total, which they usually contain the newest units added into the game on the banner relating to the said volumes. The contents of the machine are not fixed (therefore, the previous roll does not affect the statistics on the next roll, due to being an infinite supply machine). This pool includes most available suits. These DX Volume machines are split into Alpha and Beta, each containing one of the volume's suits. The DX volumes also have a "gachacon bonus" which functions as a pity system. At 22 rolls, you get a master mechanic ticket; at 44 rolls, a silver blueprint of the featured unit; at 66 rolls, another master mechanic ticket and finally, at 88 rolls, a gold blueprint of the featured unit.
The rates are as follows:
1% for a gold blueprint of a Pick-Up unit.
3% for a gold blueprint.
5% for a silver blueprint of a Pick-Up unit.
14% for a silver blueprint.
11% for a rental form of a Pick-Up unit.
66% for a rental form.
These are cycled every few weeks, usually containing 5 random premium gold options on the banner for both sides. However unlike typical DX machines, DX pickup rate has two bonus perks, its rates are naturally higher than a fresh DX Volume machine, as well as it contains the most coveted item of all, the Gold Haro Ticket, which is used within a month to trade in for any gold MS blueprint on the market that currently is not featured as the main new unit on a currently run DX Volume. The rates are as follows:
0.60% for a Golden Haro Ticket,
2.5% for a gold print of a featured Pick-Up unit.
4% for a gold print. This can be anything from a shop unit to a premium unit.
5% for a silver print of a featured Pick-Up unit.
10% for a silver print.
10% for a rental form of a featured Pick-Up unit.
and the remaining 67.90% for a rental form.
These are limited event banners that periodically show up featuring an exclusive, limited unit. The unit usually is not added in the DX pick-up pool after its period is over. The gachacon bonus and rates are different from a standard DX volume. At 22 rolls, you get 2 custom kits. At 44 rolls, a silver blueprint of the featured unit. At 66 and 88 rolls, you get 2 custom kits, and finally, at 110 rolls, you get a gold blueprint of the featured unit.
The rates are as follows:
2% for a gold print of a featured Pick-Up unit.
5% for a gold print.
4% for a silver print of a featured Pick-Up unit.
14% for a silver print.
11% for a rental form of a featured Pick-Up unit.
and the remaining 64% for a rental form.
You roll in this machine via a ticket obtained for logging in each day after a daily reset. Contents usually contain 6 items(sometimes 12 during some events) that are fixed. The prizes are: DX Ticket, Master Mechanic Ticket, Clothing Ticket, 2x Tattoos, and Gold Bars. Events at time may change the prize/change the value of prizes in a daily machine. These machines are typically reset on a weekly basis.
The gacha under this is for using the tickets from the old daily gachapon.
GP Gachapon is a machine where GP tickets (which can be bought via GP, the standard currency for the game) are used for prizes. The prize rate is extremely low (likely < 0.1%) of getting something good from a single ticket. Contents usually contain silver prints of various weaker suits, item boosters and rental prints, but if you are lucky, you can obtain prizes such as gold prints of premium units, or a DX Ticket used to roll in the deluxe options on tab one.
This is probably the most broad category, as the contents of the machine varies depending on the context of the event. Most of the time tickets are obtained by performance in large scale battles (both individual and team performance). At times, tickets can also be obtained as a prize on the pilot pass. Contents usually contain tokens, tickets, silver prints of various suits, item boosters and rental prints. At times, tickets in an Event Gachapon will be used on another event gachapon machine for a random chance of something better. Sometimes when machines are emptied entirely, a bonus final prize is given.

EX Gachapon machines are event limited machines. Similar to Event Gachapon, tickets are obtained via performance in large scale battles. Unlike most event gachapons, EX Gachapons can be reset at any time. EX Gachapon machines usually are created to introduce a new event exclusive mobile suit into the game without going through the typical DX channel. These suits are usually considered okay to very strong when compared to what options they have relative to the GP Shop choices. Due to the nature of being able to reset, with enough perseverance, they are typically one of the easiest suits to obtain a level 5 passive skill for.
These machines are usually event timed machines that use DX tickets(the premium currency for deluxe gachapon machines) with a slight twist. It usually only features 3 units(Older units), with a max capacity of 55 units total (you can theoretically empty out a machine with only 50 DX Tickets!!). It’s called gogo because “go” in Japanese is 5, so gogo is 55. The machine is great if you want a high percent chance of getting a bannered unit due to its high initial chance, and each successive chance is increased (almost 3x better rate than a standard volume due to machine size).

These DX Volume machines contain 150 contents inside the machine, typically 1x Gold Blueprint of the respective units in the banner, 1x of a medium~high cost older unit, and 2x of lower cost filler units. The machine also contains 4x Silver Blueprints of the MS listed above, as well as 24x rental forms of the featured MS, and 25x rental forms for each of the filler MS.
