The following Google Slides were used to guide instruction and provide visuals throughout this lesson.  Lesson one is focused on slides 46 and 61.  

Unit 1 Slides 

This portion of the review focused on using strategies to add and subtract with two double-digit numbers.  Each student has a personal whiteboard.  The problem was presented on the board and the students were given one minute to work on the problem.  They were told to use the strategy that they felt most comfortable with to solve the problem.  When the time was up, the students held up their whiteboards.  

Steps to Solving a Word Problem

The first part of this review game focused on organizing the steps to solving the word problem.  The steps were presented out of order on the board and the students had to volunteer to come up to the board and put the steps back in the correct order.  

Keywords

This part of the review focused on keywords that students need to look for in word problems that will tell them whether they need to add or subtract.  In this game, the students volunteered to come up to the board and put the keywords in the right category.
