PHONEMIC AWARENESS, LETTER KNOWLEDGE
In the past few weeks we have been busy identifying the beginning sound of words and reviewing the sounds of the alphabet (4 sounds per week). We have started decoding CVC word families and children were engaged in name, read and spell -at family words (i.e. rat, cat, bat, hat). They also had fun to make up no sense words that could be part of the -at family.
Children have been learning new snap words and practicing them.
