Inquiry

TREASURE HUNT

Everything started when one of the children found a old, small key and a screw in Ms.Jacquelene's office. He brought them in the classroom and all the children wondered what were they for. Everyone started to make their own assumptions. The children came up with different ideas but one common theme that came up was that the key opened a treasure box. We explored how to find a treasure, we looked at maps and children drew their own maps. We discussed what a 'bird's eye view' perspective was. They did their best to represent a bird's eye view in their own map drawing.

As the story goes...

A parrot flew by our window and dropped a bottle in our room. A letter was in the bottle with a map from Captain Challenger which led us to a treasure buried outside the school.

Below are some some pictures of this inquiry. the children were so excited.
