The first video teaches/reviews the color wheel.
What do you already know about the color wheel?
What is something you want to learn?
Why might an artist use the color wheel?
The second video shows us MR. ROYGBIV. He will help us learn the order of the rainbow (which is the same order as the color wheel!)
After learning about the order of the rainbow - try to make your own !
Materials needed: crayons, glue, red/orange/yellow/green/blue/violet construction paper, white paper.
*If you do not have these materials, you can use tissue paper, stickers or other colorful materials that can be glued for a collage. Otherwise, you can just draw and color a rainbow with crayons or markers !
Steps:
First make sure you are holding your paper in a horizontal or landscape position.
Next draw a large arch shape (almost touching the top of your page)
Leave some space (about two fingers) and continue drawing the arch shape six more times - creating 6 sections in total. You can label each to help you remember the order.
Cut up strips of construction paper, then cut squares from each strip and add to the arch using glue stick or just a dot of liquid glue.
You can use crayons to add details or a background to your rainbow collage.
Next try to draw and color your own ROYGBIV character :)
