Brain Juice Warm-Up
This warm-up is based on the homework from the night before. It helps students who did not do the homework get some practice before learning a new concept. Students will work in teams and have the opportunity to share their answers with the whole class. This helps students use all their brain juices and is a great way to start the class on a mini-review of the previous class.
Exit Ticket
This formative assessment was given to students at the end of the lesson. Each question was scaffolded to help students reach the target learning goal. Each question builds upon the other. With that in mind, I intentionally made the last question a combination of all the previous questions. This helps the students get more than just a surface-level understanding of the distributive property.
Quiz Check for One-Step Inequalities
Quiz Checks are used as Exit Tickets to evaluate students' understanding of the concept at the end of the class. Exit tickets provide quick essential feedback on student understanding that helps modify instruction.
