-My bookmark portfolio
My binder was made to help teachers find resources they can use that will be beneficial in the classroom. With over twenty diverse websites, my toolbox provides a substantial amount of information regarding all types of history. The topics range from ancestory.com, where students can track where they are from and how that impacts where they are now, to the Smithsonian National Musem’s website of all kinds of history. History is very wide- ranged, therefore it is impossible to cover every single aspect of it in a single year time span. By using these resources, students can become aware of different parts of history through the fun activities on the websites. This may also encourage students to look up a website in their own time at home, expanding their knowledge even further. Each bookmark has a tab and a tab link. All you have to do is click on the picture/thumbnail or just the link provided in order to be transported then to the website. Once you are to the website, you can explore from there, and then go back to the binder where the rest of the resources will still be waiting. These websites are for all ages, but specifically for the middle level is where I kept the majority of the websites age range at. I also included a tab that says “How to become a history teacher” which gives details and tips and tricks on how to teach history in the classroom setting. There is also a website where students can watch historical movies. Sometimes students need a break from the notes and lectures. This website provides a way to switch things up for students, all while still being an informative resource. There are endless options of movies on the website, and this serves as a fantastic resource for teachers of any age level. There is also a website containing Tedtalks. History is in so many things through so many perspectives. A motivational speaker is a significant resource to educate students on events going around the world. This appeases to different types of learners and is a great way to switch up a lesson plan. Overall, my toolkit has so many resources that are all beneficial in there own diverse way. Students learn in all kinds of ways, shapes, and forms. My toolkit ensures that each student has resources to acheive and work to the best of their ability in the classroom.
