Spring 2022
I am spending the Spring semester student teaching while being a long term substitute in a 22 student fourth grade class. I am loving teaching this energetic class all the core subjects to finish out the year. Since I took over we have been working on fiction writing, studying the mission system of California (see the padlet assignment highlighted on my collaboration page), a life sciences focus on using the senses to navigate your world, a character study unit based around the read aloud novel Tiger Rising, by Kate DiCamillo, and a deep dive into fractions and decimals in our Everyday Math curriculum. We also have a daily book club in which we are currently reading Roald Dahl's BFG!
