I am extremely excited to enter the teaching profession, especially at this pivotal time in history during which I can help shape the future of education. I have always wanted to be a teacher, as reflected in my pursuit of my BS in educational theatre, my love of being a TA for psychology classes while studying for my MA in social psychology at Boston College, and my eight year career at Kaplan Test Prep. I love the performance quality of being in front of a class. I love getting down to a student’s level and working with them directly. I love getting to know kids and adults and helping them to learn. I am an explainer by nature and someone who strives to learn something new everyday. Being a teacher is not just a job to me but who I am.
We are all learners and we all deserve to learn.
Learning is a journey that never ends.
Kindness in everything we do.
All voices have value.
Mistakes are encouraged and appreciated.
We learn through doing, not just being told.
Learning should engage the whole learner.
No one is bad at X, you just haven’t learned the skills you need yet.
We are a learning team, supporting each other in our discovery.
Diversity and equity are central to all education.
