Create a visual book report in Microsoft Word that demonstrates advanced word-processing, page-layout, image, SmartArt, and document-navigation skills.
Click the Insert tab.
Click Blank Page three times to add three additional pages. You should have a total of four pages.
Click the Design tab. Choose your Theme, Document Formatting, and Colors.
From the Design tab, change the Page Color and add a Page Border.
From the Layout tab, change your Margins to Moderate.
At the top of the first page, type:
=rand(10,10)
You will now have 10 paragraphs, each containing 10 sentences.
Click the Home tab and choose Select, then Select All.
In the Paragraph section, select 2.0 line spacing.
At the top of the page, press Enter twice.
Type the name of your book report and apply the Title style from the Home tab.
You may also center, bold, underline, or italicize the page title as desired.
Select the first letter in the first paragraph. It should be the letter V.
Click the Insert tab.
Select Drop Cap, then Dropped.
Resize the letter and change its font style as desired.
Find the first line in every paragraph and use the Tab key to indent the text.
Click the Insert tab.
Insert a Header of your choice.
Insert a Footer of your choice.
Double-click in the center of your page to close the Header and Footer area.
Find two places in your document to insert SmartArt graphics. You may decide where you would like to place them.
Insert the Continuous Block Process SmartArt graphic.
Enter three quotes from the book.
Apply the 3D Polished style to the SmartArt graphic.
Insert the Continuous Picture List SmartArt graphic.
Apply the 3D Cartoon style to the SmartArt graphic.
Enter the names of your three favorite characters from the book.
Click the image circles to search online for images of the three characters.
You may also download the images to your computer and upload them.
On the first page of your document, highlight the second paragraph.
Click the Layout tab.
Click Columns.
Click More Columns at the bottom of the list.
Select Two.
Select Line Between.
Under Apply to, select Selected Text.
Use the internet to find two images that represent the book and place them at the bottom of the second page.
Click each image individually and select Format, Wrap Text, then In Front of Text.
Apply a Picture Style to each image.
Apply Picture Effects to each image.
Navigate to your first page and place your cursor in front of the title.
From the Insert tab, select Blank Page.
Place your cursor at the top of the new page.
Click the References tab.
Click Table of Contents.
Select a style for your table of contents.
Insert a cover page of your choice. You may need to change the default text and image placeholders.
Include all of the following:
Title of the book
Author of the book
Image of the book cover
Today's date
Your name
