"Authentic, inclusive constructivist learning engages students allowing all to flourish and reach their potential."
In late 2016, I was inspired by a professional development event at Saigon South International School, Vietnam, where delegates were asked to 'reimagine' education. I decided to apply this to my IBDP Geography class by moving to from a predominantly teacher led approach to a predominantly coaching model. This depended on the resources for the course being available for the students to access independent of me, which they were, via Microsoft OneNote at the time. This was a nerve wracking move for me and my Grade 11 class at the time but was ultimately successful. Data I collected on this approach, to judge the level of success, can be seen in the Slides. I have continued this approach and it is now embedded as the standard approach for me to deliver the IBDP curriculum, supported by www.geogwright.net.
