If you flake on our scheduled conference or if something comes up, reschedule. If I flake or if something comes up--probably about my kid or parents--please accept my apologies and reschedule.
Schedule and Student Consultation Hours:
All student conferencing hours OUTSIDE of face to face meetings are held on Zoom. I reserve the right to eat lunch in between 12 and 1215 p.m. even if the campus has no food options. I may also choose to leave my camera off at that time instead of letting you see me stuffing my face.
Note: If you are doing particularly poorly in the course(s), please consider using Emergency Study Hub Study Hall Office Hours in your free time. Also, consider using the late semester CRAM JAM if you owe me 1-2 essays. In the past, I have met with students to fit in with their work schedules, but they need to take the initiative to set up meetings with me. If you miss a bunch of class sessions, it is your responsibility to catch up during Student Conferencing Hours. Since 2 classes = 1 week of missed time, you are expected to make up the work. Some students feel "shame" when they miss a lot of class, but they end up making the situation worse by not communicating with myself or the counselor about why they are missing the class (a lot / most of the time due to outside work, family drama, or other reasons).
If you are a high-risk student (high risk of failing the course), you may want to spend 1-3 hours during the Student Conferencing Hours to have me guide you through the assignment and sit down with you and monitor your progress.
Office Hours are always held at the Lama Library Learning Center @ Lama Library on the library 2nd Floor. Go past the library's security gate, go up the stairwell, then look towards LAMA 207. My work area is closer to the windows (towards Diamond Head).
