Classic falling stick problem. a good one to watch even if you already got it correct.
How to whack a stick.
whoops! I forgot explain the last part of the problem. Essentially you set the hinge force equal to zero. Find the acceleration. Then using torque find the distance the force needs to be applied to get the found acceleration. You are pretty much working the problem backwards compared to the first parts.

Also, this is a great problem to test where you're at. It involves lots of concepts all in one problem.
How to get a wheelbarrow over a brick. I have a lot of strong personal feelings about this problem because as a young person I did a lot of wheelbarrow dirt around my house. either helping my dad landscape and plant trees, or building jumps for me and my brother's bmx track in the back yard.
