Back to Composite Solids
1. Blaiden is trying to find the Volume of this solid
He has broken the solid into two parts as shown. He also knows that the volume of part A is 20 cubic centimetres and part B is 40 cubic centimetres.
What should he do next?
2. Jaimelen is trying to find the Volume of this Solid
She counted that the total amount of blocks was 32.
She knows that the green blocks + the yellow blocks should = the total.
How many green and yellow blocks are there? Do they add up to 32?
3. Rowen is trying to find the Volume of this Solid
He found that the Rectangle was 80 square centimetres
He found that the Triangle was 96 square centimetres
Together he says the area of the shape is 176
He then multiples by depth to find the volume is 1408 cubic centimetres.
Rowens teacher said he made a mistake with the triangle. What was it? What should the correct area and volume be?
