Here's the 60-second fix for Windows 10, Windows 11 & Mac
Press Win + R, type services.msc, press Enter
Find Print Spooler → Right-click → Stop
Go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
Delete all files in that folder
Go back to Services → Right-click Print Spooler → Start
Done. Your queue is clear.
PDF print jobs get stuck when the Windows Print Spooler service freezes. Common causes:
Complex PDF files with embedded fonts or high-resolution images
Printer connection dropout (WiFi or USB disconnect)
Outdated printer drivers
Corrupted PDF files
Low system memory
Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:
net stop spooler
del %systemroot%\System32\spool\printers\* /Q
net start spooler
Open Terminal and run:
cancel -a
This cancels all pending print jobs.
Alternative: System Settings → Printers & Scanners → Right-click → Reset printing system
Keep printer drivers updated
Use USB instead of WiFi for large print jobs
Split large PDFs (100MB+) before printing
Close unnecessary apps before printing
Restart the Print Spooler weekly if you print frequently
