Regular cleaning like kitchenware.

Rinse with pure water several times.

Dry at room temperature or low temp (40) oven.

No drying in the oven at 110 degree C.

Glasswares for oragnic synthesis

IN THE FUME HOOD

Remove the (solid/liquid) waste to the organic waste bin

Rinse the glassware with acetone several times until it is clean. If acetone does not work, use other organic solvents and dump all liquids to the oranic waste bin.

Dry the cleaned glassware in the fume hood.

IN THE FUME HOOD

Check the waste in the container whether it reacts with organic solvents.

Na metal and metal hydrides usually react with organic solvents. They need to be quenched by proper methods.

If it does not react with organic solvents, remove the (solid/liquid) waste to the organic waste bin.

Rinse the glassware with acetone several times until it is clean. If acetone does not work, use other organic solvents and dump all liquids to the oranic waste bin.

If it is still not clean, rinse the glassware with ethanol, and add a few drops of conc. nitric acid. Keep the glassware at least several hours until it completely burn the waste. Often it reacts explosively, be careful! After reaction, the nitric acid waste goes to the acid waste bin.

Rinse with tap water.

Keep the glassware in BASE BATH overnight. Strong base, use chemical-resistant gloves and be carefule!

Rinse with tap water and pure water several times.

Dry the glassware with drying rack.

Acetone: distillation over CaCl2 and storage with molecular sieve

Dichloromethane: storage with CaH2

Tolene: storage with Na ribbon

LABNOTE

1. 실험노트는 실험실 재산이므로 항상 실험실 내에 머물러야 하며, 실험실을 떠날 때는 반드시 지도교수에게 반납한다.

2. 새로 시작하는 실험노트는 수령 즉시 페이지를 붙여놓는다.

3. 실험노트의 처음 몇 장은 목차를 위해서 비워둔다.

4. 자주 쓰는 화학식이나 숫자 등은 실험노트 뒤쪽에 기록한다.

5. 잘못 적은 경우 표시하고 그 다음 장에 다시 작성하며 절대 실험노트를 찢지 않는다.

6. 작성은 실험 별로 하며 번호나 날짜로 표시하여 추후에 진행되는 실험에 참고가 되도록 한다.

7. 각 실험에는 참고문헌, 사용시약의 조성, 관찰 등을 기록하며 항상 실험결과에 대한 토론을 포함한다.

8. 실험에 발생하는 스펙트럼 등의 데이터는 실험노트에 정리해서 간단히 기록하고, 원본은 따로 정리해 보관한다.

9. 데이터는 실험노트의 페이지와 날짜를 반드시 기록하고, 실험명, 측정조건, 실험자 등을 반드시 기록한다.
