geriatric SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP (SIG)
Who Are We?
Special Interest Groups (SIGs) under Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS) are communities of pharmacists who are interested in sharing focused ideas, knowledge and experiences with others in a specific sub-specialty area.
The Geriatric SIG was proposed during the virtual Annual Business Meeting of the MPS Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy Chapter (HCPC) on 9th March 2024.
As a SIG under the MPS HCPC, its vision is to address the specific needs and challenges associated with geriatric pharmacy practice in hospital and clinical settings.
In short, we are Malaysian pharmacists committed to enhancing elderly care with expertise and professionalism.
Objectives
To enhance the knowledge and skills of pharmacists in geriatric pharmacy practice within hospital and clinical settings
To promote best practices and evidence-based approaches in pharmaceutical care for elderly patients via various educational mediums.
To facilitate networking and collaboration among pharmacists, other healthcare professionals, and organizations involved in geriatric care
